"VCU MobStudio and Carytown Collaborate to Bring Fashion and History to Life"
Richmond, VA - VCU MobStudio, a student-run multimedia agency at Virginia Commonwealth University, has teamed up with Carytown's AlterNatives to create an exciting new project that combines fashion and history. The result is an interactive digital media experience that showcases the stories behind the unique stores in Carytown.
The idea for this collaboration came from VCU students Cailin Wright, Olivia Grieve, and Kynnedi Wilkerson, who were inspired by the fashion entrepreneurs in Carytown. They approached Guadalupe Ramirez, owner of AlterNatives, with their idea for a multimedia project that would bring these stories to life.
"We wanted to create something that would not only showcase the fashion in Carytown, but also the history and personal stories behind each store," said Wright. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with AlterNatives and bring this project to life."
The result is an interactive digital media experience that takes visitors on a walking tour of Carytown, highlighting the unique stories and backgrounds of each store. From vintage boutiques to modern fashion hotspots, this project showcases the diverse and vibrant fashion scene in Carytown.
"We are excited to partner with VCU MobStudio on this project," said Ramirez. "It's a great way to showcase the amazing fashion and history in Carytown and we hope it will encourage more people to come and explore our district."
The project, which is set to launch in the coming weeks, will be available for visitors to access through their smartphones. It will feature videos, photos, and interviews with the fashion entrepreneurs in Carytown, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the district.
"We are proud to have been a part of this collaboration and are excited to see the final product," said Grieve. "We hope this project will not only promote the fashion in Carytown, but also the unique stories and people behind it."
